H2 HUMMER For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

I like the idea of having it sit tight to the cowl and then just add the extention when you need. Its just not that often I get into a deep water situation to justify having that chimney looking pipe on the rig every day.The only reason I made my comment about it angled with the A-pillar is if I have to have it on there every day, it better look like it belongs there.

I like the idea, just think, it would attract a bigger group with better styling.

I actually thought of finding a snorkle kit that is close and modifying it to get one that fits better. The Safari TJ snorkel would almost work through the side vent, its just alittle tall.

Question how deep are you trying to go?

I think you will flood the truck and fry computer first.

And it need to be running next to a-pillar

Actually, if you maintain a steady speed and a good bow wake the H2 can forde quite a bit of water. The door seals work very well and can keep water out for a little while. If you stop or get stuck, or dunk the passenger front in a hole and suck water into the intake, you are screwed.

The snorkel also provides a way of getting cooler, cleaner air into the intake.

I think the big misconception with snorkels are that they are made for water. This is not their main purpose. Having it clean the air before it gets to the filter keeps your filter working they way it should for a much longer period of time. Think how the ARB scoop is. Now think about how your windshield looks after a trip down the highway. All them bugs that are suck to your window went rite down the air scoop into your filter. Getting the engine breathing from a different location along with a turbine style prefilter helps keep your engine running cleaner.

Sy-klone makes all of CAT cabin and engine prefilters like the rebranded expeller.
